First they were called swimming pools, then came the pool – with different functions: The film spans the spectrum from the idea of bathing for hygiene reasons to magnificent swimming pools and their significance in art and culture: An ironic and entertaining search for clues.
When the sun is shining and the temperatures are high, we long for a bit of cooling off. The swimming pool has been fulfilling this dream of cool water for decades.
